It is narrated in a hadith from Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him): “And there is no day like the day of Hussein (peace be upon him), when thirty thousand men gathered around him, claiming that they were from this nation, each seeking to draw closer to Allah Almighty through his blood, and he would remind them of Allah, but they would not heed until they killed him out of transgression, injustice, and enmity.”
🔺 This shows that if religion is not understood correctly, it can turn into its opposite; even a part of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him and his family) nation moved with motives they considered sacred to commit a crime of the magnitude of the tragedy of Karbala, and this happened in less than fifty years.
