The launch of the second edition of the Romanian translation of the book Sahifa Sajjadiya took place on Thursday, November 21, 2024, with a wide participation of scientific and cultural personalities, as well as dear guests from the countries of Iran, Romania, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Palestine, Ukraine, Pakistan, Bulgaria and Tunisia, at the Imam Ali (Peace be upon him) Foundation in Bucharest.
At the beginning of this program, Imam Seyyed Hamid Hosseini, the director of the foundation, welcomed the participants and considered the publication of this work and the organization of this celebration as a turning point in the activities of the center, expressing his hope that, through the collaboration of those interested in Iranian and Islamic culture and thought, more fervent steps will be taken towards cultural exchange with Romania.
He thanked and appreciated the efforts of Professor Grigore in the scientific translation of Sahifa Sajjadiya and the support and goodwill of Dr. Nazakatgu in the various stages of the project, presenting this book and, considering that it was described with the title “Psalms of the Family of Muhammad (Peace be upon him)”, he chose to address in his speech a comparative analysis between Sahifa Sajjadiya and the Psalms of David (Peace be upon him) from the Bible of the Jews and Christians.
The Director of the Imam Ali Foundation in Bucharest, in his speech, referring to some common titles between Sahifa Sajjadiya and Psalms of David, considered these similarities as a sign of the unity of origin and purpose of divine religions, emphasizing that the important truths presented in these sacred texts remain alive and useful to give meaning to today’s life, insisting on the need to use these teachings to solve individual and social problems.
This researcher in Islamic sciences, providing examples of similar expressions from these two collections, listed among the common messages in these two books the presentation of a loving and merciful God, offering a positive and just image of existence, creating a sense of satisfaction with life, increasing patience and tolerance in the face of difficulties, praising God in any condition, and encouraging doing good and forgiving the wrongs of others.
Next, Dr. Ezzatollah Nezakatgu presented some points about the history and implementation process of this project, emphasizing the importance and special place of books such as the Quran, Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifa Sajjadiya, insisting on the need to translate and publish such valuable texts.
The next speaker of this ceremony was Mr. Professor George Grigore, who, while welcoming the scientific and cultural personalities present at the meeting, expressed his satisfaction for the success achieved in carrying out this translation and organizing this event, then moved on to presenting the personality of Imam Zain al-Abidin (AS) and the book Sahifa Sajjadiya.
Continuing the program, Mr. Dr. Hossein Sadat Meidani, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Romania, greeted the guests of the ceremony and thanked the organizers, considering that the translation and publication of such works contribute to the expansion of peace and friendship and the cultural development of all communities, emphasizing the need to continue and improve this type of activities.
At the end, a book signing and presentation ceremony was held for the participants, and guests were served Iranian dishes.
