Lesson 45: The Morning Of A Muslim Family

Masood is a member of a Muslim household. It is a very pious household whose members are very fond of Islamic teachings and modes of worship. So to say it is an ideal Muslim household, which is praised and respected by all. Just as their views and beliefs are pure, their clothes are also clean but simple. They do not believe in unnecessary ostentation or extravagance.

Masood’s parents get up early in the morning before sunrise. They also awaken Masood and other children with great love and kindness. As soon as the children get up they say Salam to elders. Thereafter the entire household begins preparing for prayer.

While preparing for prayer they first attend to ablution. After completing ablution they begin their prayer. They perform different stages of prayer very respectfully. They keep their attention directed towards Allah only, and do not do anything which may make their thoughts go astray.

Masood and the other members of the family are well aware of the importance of prayer. They know that while performing prayer, they converse with Allah and seek His help for doing good things and refraining from evil. They also know that besides being an

obligatory worship, Salat makes one punctual and regular.

After offering their prayer they all sit together in the form of a circle. One of them then recites verses from the Holy Quran and others listen with due respect and attention.

After performing their prayers and reciting the prayers from the Holy Quran, all of them have their breakfast. When breakfast is over, Masood’s father and elder brother leave for office, Masood and his younger sister go to school and his mother gets herself busy in household work.

Thus this fortunate household commences its day with the worship of Almighty Allah who is the Creator and Nourisher of all.
