Hajj
Those to whom Allah has granted the capability, both physical and financial, and have the capacity to perform the customs of Hajj, must perform Hajj at least once in a lifetime, as it is obligatory upon them. If a Muslim has the capacity to perform Hajj, but fails to do so, and dies in such a condition will not die on Islam.
In order to perform Hajj, one has to undertake journey to Mecca. From the 9th-12th Zilhajj, the person has to perform specific a’maal in specific places. One has to perform Umra before Hajj. Before going for Hajj or after completing it, one must visit the graves of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), Janabe Fatima Zahra (s.a.), Imam Hasan-e-Mujtaba (a.s.), Imam Zainul Abedeen (a.s.), Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) and Imam Ja’far-e-Sadiq (a.s.). It is only by performing these Ziaraat does one’s Hajj become complete as belief in prophethood and Imamate is an integral part of the belief in Tauheed, and visitation of the graves of the Holy Prophet (s.a.) and Imams (a.s.) is the minimum requirement of this belief.
Jehad
Allah declares in Surah Tauba (9) verse 111:
Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah’s way, so they slay and are slain; a promise which is binding on Him in the Taurat and the Injeel and the Quran; and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? Rejoice therefore in the pledge which you have made; and that is the mighty achievement.
Jehad refers to struggle in Allah’s way. The best form of struggle is to struggle against our own sinful desires. We can resist the temptation to sin and can exhort ourselves to perform good, and in this manner we can defeat Shaitaan’s army and we can perform the important task of Jehad with ownself.
